NOW II
Non-linear consciousness and memory processees as a starting point for new narrative structures in audio work
NOW II follows on from NOW I, a project dedicated to exploring the auditive perception of time from a fine arts perspective to arrive at new solutions for acoustic works in exhibition spaces. Questions about audio works, which "must do without ritualised starting and end points," can also be transferred onto automatically operated nocturnal radio broadcasts. In conjunction with Radio LoRa, which already served NOW I as a business partner, two projects have been developed - "ELECTROMAGNETIC SUMMER 2005" and "NACHTSCHICHTEN" - that adopt a practical approach to this question. The project is undertaken in conjunction with the Electronic Studio of the Basel Academy of Music and the AktiveArchive - a project based at Berne University of the Arts and the Swiss Institute for Art Research.
